Orienteering for Schools in Vienna

School-Orienteering. Made simple & fun.

Discover orienteering through play: We offer supervised orienteering sessions for all school levels – no previous experience required. Each session combines physical activity, fun and plenty of opportunities for success.

The programme is suitable for individual classes, project days, sports days, and sports and health weeks. Sessions can also be booked by private children’s and youth groups.

All sessions are led by qualified and experienced coaches from Orienteering Club Wienerwald and can be held in English, German or Swedish.

What students can expect

  • a playful warm-up
  • running and orienteering games
  • an introduction to orienteering maps
  • different orienteering courses adapted to the students’ age and level
  • an electronic punching and timekeeping system

Students learn how to navigate independently using a map. The focus is on discovering together, being active and enjoying a positive first experience of orienteering.

Program

  • Duration: 1.5 hours
  • Location: Türkenschanzpark, Vienna or Prater Jesuitenwiese, Wien
  • Group size: maximum 30 participants per session
  • Previous experience: not required
  • Suitable for: primary and secondary schools as well as private children’s and youth groups
  • Organisational costs:
    Türkenschanzpark €340 per school class
    Prater €390 per school class

The organisational costs include supervision by our coaches, orienteering maps, use of the required equipment, and the electronic punching and timekeeping system.

    Cancellation policy

    For cancellations made more than 14 days before the agreed date, 50% of the organisational costs will be charged. For cancellations made within 14 days of the agreed date, or in the event of a no-show, 100% will be charged.

    Rescheduling to an alternative date is possible subject to availability.
